I started with Swift a little over 5 years ago and then left to take a tour of the trucking industry. Drove for Danny Herman, Blackwell Consolidation, Shaffer, Blackwell Consolidation again, then went local pulling live-bottom trailers for a few months. I didn't like local. Then, I came back to Swift and am now on a dedicated route at 78 CPM, probably about the best pay at Swift. There are definitely some good opportunities at Swift if you look for them. Welcome!

Help her Lord, for she knows not what she's done. JK! Serve your year and move on up. Apparently, at Swift, it's in the job description to tear shit up.

Just be careful... always...if you're not sure about what you're doing, STOP. Dont worry about that impatient guy rushing you! Dont live up to the swift reputation. Make good choices! Also just because swift has a lot of shitty drivers, doesnt mean they dont have a lot of great drivers... you can be one!

During training everyone worries about backing. Practice Practice and Practice some more. It will click at some point. Drive the tandems not the back of the trailer. Learn to manage your clock. Get into a routine. You are the Captain of your ship. You decide how to run, what’s safe for you. Don’t let the DM’s push you with their urgency bs. Best of luck my stepsister.

Welcome to the nut house, but I’ll warn ya now, you’re gonna need thick skin…Swift drivers will get picked on. Mostly in fun. Don’t hesitate to ask questions or for help if you need it.
