Whoever chose the phrase defund wasn't very smart because that's not what it actually means. Reorganization or restructuring is what it should say because that's what it is. It's NOT getting rid of the police entirely

hell no as far as i am concerned is if those knuckles head liberals Decided to disband there police department then suffer the consequences r lives is more important then that freight they want if they want bad enough then arrange outside the danger zone plan and simple and hello to u Sadie ๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ™‚

I want my personal safety to be as strong as possible. If the towns are at risk that is, as my driving instructor would say a โ€œhazardโ€. One that to me is unacceptable.

Too dangerous

Nope. It would be time to get a new profession. See I am all about self preservation not self harm. You see if police departments get defended and pay gets cut, it will not be long before officers start looking for better pay and better benefits and the department is left to the way side.

For my own safety and the security of my customers loads, I have informed my dispatcher that I will refuse all loads to cities that have defunded their police departments.

I can run almost anywhere. But I don't like the West Coast or the Northeast.

I'm retired public safety with 18 years of service in fire departments. I served side by side with law enforcement officers in the line of duty and still support my Brothers and Sisters in uniform. If public safety agencies are defunded or disbanded the communities will be promoting an supporting lawlessness and anarchy. I will not put myself in harm's way to deliver into a mad max scene.

I am responsible for my safety and my codrivers safety when I am driving. Also responsible for maintaining and taking care of my 150,000 truck. Going into a place with no law and order would put both those things at risk. I have never in my driving career been given a ticket or have I been involved in an accident. I have over a million safe miles. I have been to some places where the police work overtime to keep law and order and its still very scary to get out of my truck and walk across the street. I can't imagine if there were a place where anything goes and anyone can determine what the law looks like to them. Its just to risky for me. I have a great job where my boss will listen to me when I say I won't go. He has already said he won't put me at risk by sending me there.

Life on the road is hard enough without having to worry about somebody trying to get into your truck

Yes, The sheriff is still there. There are places we deliver to now that have city police that would not show up in time anyways.
